Pilkington Pyrostop® is the highest level of fire and radiant heat protection glass, maximizing natural light and visibility, thus enabling unique designs.
Pilkington Pyrostop® fire-resistant glass is made of low-iron float glass (Pilkington Optiwhite™), laminated with clear intumescent interlayers. When exposed to fire, the pane facing the flames fractures but remains in place, while the interlayer immediately foams to form a thick, durable insulation shield.
Pilkington Pyrostop® is designed for interior and exterior use where thermal protection is required in case of fire. It is ideal for use in transparent fire-rated walls, windows, doors, screens, partitions, and facades or, when installed inclined, for roof glazing (special type) and horizontal glazing (special type).
